...we used to gather the extended family when I was a kid, and put a pig on a manually rotating spit, roast it all afternoon, and eat all evening... good memories...

This past weekend, I smoked up a few items to bring to work for a team sponsored lunch, paid for by the company of course:

6 briskets
25lbs chicken breast
25lbs chicken thigh
15lbs chicken wings
10lbs sausage
6 racks of st louis style ribs
15lbs of pork shoulder.

Well over 20hrs of smoking between Saturday and Sunday but well worth it seeing how much my coworkers enjoyed it all.

That's why I do the pig every year. It's a labor of love, and a challenge, but so worth it.

We usually roast some animal or another at camp every summer.  Last year was a goat, which was odd to me, but really quite good.

Goat curry is phenomenal. I'd love to do a spit roasted goat.

Goat curry is pretty great.  I used to get that and the spicy pumpkin curry from a local joint at least once a week back when I lived in the fun part of town with the cool kids...
